Unbound: Wendy Parisi
This senior director suggests solving problems only requires a boundless state of mind. She’s not wrong.

“When one is boundless, one can act with boundlessness—moving through their work by solving problems with curiosity and tenacity, knowing there are unlimited possibilities.”
Wendy Parisi
Senior Director for Project Administration
University of Rochester Medical Center
As Senior Director for Project Administration, Wendy provides oversight and connective tissue across initiatives that advance system-level improvements throughout the University of Rochester Medical Center. Her work helps integrate programs, remove friction points, and support teams working toward better care models and more consistent patient experiences. It also reflects the two unofficial titles she’s long been known for: chief dot-connector and barrier-buster.
Wendy and her team translate plans into action, enabling the structural and operational changes that expand access to healthcare and help make the medical center a preferred destination for patients—regardless of race, gender, gender identity or expression, language, or any other facet of identity. A prime example of this commitment is the Patient Language Accessibility Taskforce. Created in response to feedback from patients and community partners, the taskforce is focused on improving communication for individuals whose primary language isn’t English, ensuring all patients and families feel welcome, respected, and heard throughout their care experience.
Wendy notes that the healthcare environment has changed dramatically over the last decade, and the medical center has adapted to meet those rising pressures. “Rochester is filled with energy,” she says. “People across the institution are primed to ask hard questions and develop shared solutions. I approach building programs and solving problems with a curious mind and boundless energy, laser-focused on enabling equitable care models for all of our patients. I am dedicated to creating a better healthcare delivery system so that all members of our community can live healthy, full lives.”
Postscript: Wendy’s boundless mindset continues to open new doors. As of May 1, she will begin a new chapter as Senior Program Director for the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, where she will remain steadfast in her commitment to advancing fairness in care delivery—among many other things.
